About Edu

Edu holds an MSc in Agroecology from the Norwegian University of Life Sciences and a bachelor’s in Plant Science from the University of Costa Rica, but he is also keen to learning about geography, history and general culture.

He has worked with a variety of environmental and human rights organizations, having experience with grassroots and international settings, and is familiar with issues related to climate, gender and social justice. During four years he was the Program Coordinator at the IAFN back in 2011. He has also taken different roles with multilateral organizations as well as regional projects supporting farmers in Mesoamerica, and other educational and activist initiatives aimed at supporting local advocacy in Costa Rica. Additionally, Edu performs as interpreter and translator, an occupation he deeply enjoys.

Edu also practices restoration on his small 1-acre family plot, trying to bring back the forest using the AF-model as an inspiration, in the highlands of Chiapas, Mexico.
