About Dissanayake Mudiyanselage Lalith Chaminda Kumara
Lalith Chaminda Kumara has been involved with the Belipola Arboretum since 1997 and has understudied Dr. Ranil Senanayake in Analog Forestry. From 2000 to 2004, he developed a home garden in the “Nikapotha” area near the Arboretum. Between 2000 and 2002, he worked with Dr. Senanayake on a project where the Sri Lankan government released 64 acres to the village of “Walikadagama.” From 2005 to 2012, he worked on rehabilitating destroyed ecosystems in Galle after the devastating tsunami.
As Project Manager from 2012 to 2015, he set up and implemented a nursery on behalf of RRI in the Polonnaruwa district. Since 2015, he has developed a home garden according to GAP filling principles with nursery management and works on landscape design and implementation projects for hotels. He currently serves as the official tour guide for the Belipola Arboretum experience tour and as Field Manager of Aquae Labs, conducting research at the Belipola Arboretum.
