About Madhu Rathnayake

Madhu Rathnayake is the co-founder of the Daminiyathanna Analog Forestry (AF) site and serves as a Facilitator and Trainer for Asia with the International Analog Forestry Network (IAFN). She is also an Auditor for FGP/PGS (IAFN), a Technical Pool Member for PGS, and a Field Inspector. Her career began at the Belipola Arboretum in Sri Lanka in 2015, where she worked as a Marketing and Community Relationship Coordinator under the management of Dr. Ranil Senanayake. In 2017, she transitioned into a role as Project Coordinator and Field Inspector with Lanka Good Market (PGS, IFOAM).

Madhu has over seven years of experience in AF-related environmental restoration projects and PGS (IAFN) certification systems in Sri Lanka. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree specializing in Agriculture and Public Relations from Rajarata University of Sri Lanka. As an active member of the PGS Committee, she works closely with farming communities as a consultant in designing sustainable production units.

After undergoing extensive training under Lorena Senanayake, she was accredited as an Analog Forestry Trainer for Asia in 2022. Currently, she dedicates much of her time to the Daminiyathanna AF site, where she aspires to develop it into an ecotourism destination for local and international students to learn sustainable Analog Forestry practices while honoring nature.
